Program Director
Job Description:
FreeWorld is seeking an experienced, high-performing, get-stuff-done Program Director to join our growing team. The Program Director will report to the COO and has significant experience in program management for a mid-size non-profit organization and the skillset to build on our current program and services.
The Program Director works with urgency, with excellent communication, is incredibly organized, and has excellent time management skills. This role will be responsible for all facets of our organization’s program including education programming, referral partners, trucking schools, program participants, and employers.

Mission:
To end the era of mass incarceration and generational poverty by:
- Placing returning citizens into high wage careers at scale.
- Developing a self-sustaining revenue model to accelerate our growth. Today, we are using income share agreements.
- Creating systemic change by leveraging our incredibly deep layers of graduate data in partnership with the Criminal Justice System to become the Gold Standard for re-entry.
What you’ll do:
- Manage our Program and Education teams to ensure that our goals are being met and that we are constantly innovating our program.
- Develop and implement Success and Education team infrastructure.
- Define department OKRs and ensure the team is meeting their OKRs.
- Ensure participants are getting quality FreeWorld services and gain a deep understanding of participants’ challenges to improve the Success and Education programs.
- Manage and ensure that our educational programs are of the highest quality and are compliant with FMCSA regulations.
- Manage all programs and wrap-around services.
- Build our post-program services, such as financial planning, wealth dashboard, and credit score tool.
- Identify, build relationships with, and develop MOUs with trucking schools and hold them accountable for educational outcomes.
- Manage all communication with trucking schools, trucking companies, and students.
- Identify, build relationships with, and develop an employer pipeline with trucking companies.
- Manage the development of our data systems to visualize our outcomes.
What you’ll have:
- 5+ years of experience managing teams and working with cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in nonprofit social services
- Experience in the education field (preferred, but not required)
- Deep passion for second chances and fighting injustice.
- Personally impacted by the criminal justice system (preferred, but not required).
- Highly functioning self-starter with a proven ability to work constructively with multiple deadlines, across multiple environments
- Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment
- Highly articulate and pays close attention to detail, with excellent planning, prioritization, and organizational skills, with a get-it-done mentality.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
- The ability to lead with poise and empathy in a constantly evolving environment
- No ego, you are willing to do everything from data entry to company strategy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.

FreeWorld is a 100% remote company. You may live anywhere in the US and work from any location that is quiet and free from distractions.

Compensation and Benefits
The compensation for this position is based on experience, but we are targeting $110k - $130k.
